Cherry Season, Guignolet, and Christmas in July

I spent most of Sunday making jam from bing cherries and guignolet, a French Christmas wine made from cherries and cherry leaves that I discovered last year as part of my aperitif research. I found the wine too sweet for my taste, but mixed with fresh cherries it makes a fantastic jam. It's for sale at the Sonoma Aperitif tasting room and wine club members will be receiving some in their first basket.
